520			_aتركز هذه الدراسة على أحد الموضوعات التي تباينت حولها الرؤى الاستشراقية المعاصرة والتقليدية؛ وهو موضوع الإسلام وعلاقته بالديمقراطية، في محاولة لفهم الآراء المختلفة التي تطرقت إلى فكرة إمكان تطبيق الديمقراطية في الدول العربية والإسلامية. فقد انقسمت الدراسات الاستشراقية إلى اتجاهين؛ اتجاه مؤيد لوجود علاقة بين الإسلام والديمقراطية، واتجاه آخر معارض لتلك العلاقة. وتهدف الدراسة إلى عقد مقارنة بين «نوح فيلدمان» الذي يمثل الاتجاه الأول المؤيد لوجود علاقة بين الإسلام والديمقراطية و«مارتن كريمر» الذي يمثل الاتجاه الثاني المعارض لإمكانية قيام نظام ديمقراطي في الدول العربية والإسلامية. وتعتمد هذه الدراسة على فحص المسلمات الفكرية التي يتبناها كل اتجاه من الاتجاهين موضع الدراسة، وبيان إلي أي مدى توجد بنية منطقية يقوم عليها خطابهما الاستشراقي، وذلك باستخدام منهج التحليل المنطقي للحجج.
520			_aThis study focuses on Islam and its relationship to democracy, in an attempt to understand the different views of the contemporary and traditional orientalist discourse which is tackled the idea of the possibility of democratization in Arab and Muslim countries. Orientalist studies have been divided into two trends: The first trend is in favor of a relationship between Islam and democracy, and the other one is in opposition to that relationship in which they argued that there is incompatibility between Islam and Democracy. The study aims to compare between «Noah Feldman», who represents the first trend which argued that there is compatibility between Islam and democracy, and «Martin Kramer», who represents the second trend that is opposed to the possibility of applying a democratic system in Arab and Muslim countries. Therefore, this study focuses on examining the ideas and arguments adopted by each of the two trends, and showing the extent to which there is a logical structure on which their orientalist discourse is based, using the logical method in analyzing their arguments.
