520			_aBackground: Low back pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal condition in the general population, particularly among farmers. Furthermore, it frequently results in missed pay and significant medical bills. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of mechanical LBP in Egyptian farmers during transplanting process in Giza and to determine the association between number of working years and mechanical LBP in farmers of Giza, Egypt. Subjects: Two hundreds and seventy farmers participated in this study. Their ages varied from 18 to 60 years, the mean values ± SD of age of groups A, B and C were 23.7 ± 3.8, 37.5 ± 4.1 and 51.6 ± 3.8 years and the mean values ± SD of BMI were 21.5 ± 2.2, 22.3 ± 2.3 and 21.7 ± 2.4 kg/m2. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was undertaken. Face-to-face interviews were used to gather data. The intensity of pain, degree of functional impairment, and lumbar range of motion were examined using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and Range of Motion (ROM) test. In addition to measuring scales, anthropometry, personal and vocational history were gathered. Results: The prevalence of mechanical LBP in farmers was 65.6% among farmers studied and there was a significant association between mechanical LBP and working years (P₌0.001) as with increasing the farming years there was an increase in incidence of mechanical LBP. Conclusions: Farmers have a significantly higher prevalence of mechanical low back pain and functional impairment as a result of mechanical low back pain.
520			_aالخلفية: آلام أسفل الظهر الميكانيكيه هي واحدة من الاضطرابات العضلية الهيكلية الأكثر انتشارا في عموم السكان، وخاصة بين المزارعين علاوة على ذلك فإنه غالبا ما يؤدي إلى خسارة الأجور ونفقات طبية إضافية. الهدف: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تقديرمدى انتشار آلام أسفل الظهر الميكانيكية وتحديد تأثير سنوات العمل الزراعية على الام اسفل الظهر الميكانيكية في الجيزة-مصر. المشاركين: شارك فى هذه الدراسه مائتان وسبعون مزارعا وتراوحت اعمارهم بين ۱۸‑٦۰ سنة، متوسط اعمارهم فى المجموعه الاولى والثانية والثالثه ۲۳,٧±۳,٨ ، ۳٧,٥±٤,۱ ،٥۱,٦±۳,٨ سنه ومتوسط كتلة اجسامهم فى المجموعه الاولى والثانيه والثالثه ۲۱,٥±۲,۲ ،۲۲,۳±۲,۳ ، ۲۱,٧±۲,٤ كجم/م۲ الطرق: تم إجراء مسح مقطعي على ۲٧۰ مزارعا وتم جمع البيانات عن طريق المقابلات وجهاً لوجه، وتم تقييم شدة الألم ودرجة الإعاقة الوظيفية ونطاق الحركة القطنية بواسطة مقياس التناظري البصري ومؤشر الإعاقة أوسويستري واختبار المرونة القطنية تم جمع القياسات البشرية والتاريخ الشخصي والمهني بالإضافة إلى مقاييس القياس. النتائج: من بين ۲٧۰مزارعاً بلغت نسبة انتشار الام الظهر الميكانيكية لدى المزارعين ٦٥.٦⁒ الاستنتاجات : يعاني المزارعون من ارتفاع معدل انتشار آلام أسفل الظهرالميكانيكية والإعاقة الوظيفية المرتبطة بآلام أسفل الظهر الميكانيكية، مما يؤثر على حياتهم الاجتماعية والعملية يوصى باستخدام برامج الصحة والسلامة المهنية للتحكم في آلام أسفل الظهر الميكانيكية في هذه المجموعة المهنية شديدة الضعف.
