520			_aتُعتبر جزيرة كورسيكا واحدة من أهم جزر البحر المتوسط، من الناحية الجغرافية والتاريخية والسياسية والاقتصادية، بالإضافة إلى موقع الجزيرة في غرب البحر المتوسط والذي جعلها موقعًا متميزًا لجميع الدول التجارية المحيطة بها، بالإضافة إلى خصوبة تربتها وسهلها الشرقي وثروة مناجمها وغاباتها، حيث إنها غنية بالغابات والأشجار التي قدمت أخشاب ممتازة لبناء السفن فكانت جزيرة كورسيكا موطنًا للعديد من الشعوب المختلفة، حتى سقطت بيد الرومان. تهتم هذه الدراسة بمناقشة الأسباب والعوامل التي أدت لاحتلال الرومان لجزيرة كورسيكا والسيطرة عليها ورومنتها من خلال نشر الثقافة الرومانية والكتابة بالحروف اللاتينية وتأسيس المستعمرات في الجزيرة وتطبيع السكان بالطبائع والثقافة الرومانية حتى نجحوا في دمج الكورسيكيين في إطار المجتمع الروماني. وتهدف هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على الوضع السياسي للجزيرة بعد الاحتلال الروماني وموقف السكان من الاحتلال الروماني لجزيرتهم، بالإضافة لعزلة الجزيرة واختيارها من قِبل الأباطرة كمنفى للسياسيين والخارجين عن القوانين الرومانية. كما تهتم الدراسة بالتعرف على الوضع الإداري للجزيرة وموقف الكورسيكيين من الموظفين الرومان، كما تناقش الدراسة مشاركة الكورسيكيين في الجيش والأسطول الروماني ومنحهم الجنسية الرومانية. وكذلك تهتم الدراسة بالتعرف على الأوضاع الاقتصادية والاجتماعية في الجزيرة في العصر الروماني.

Corsica was home to many different peoples, until it fell into the hands of the Romans. This study is concerned with discussing the reasons and factors that led to the Romans occupying the island of Corsica, controlling it and Romanizing it by spreading Roman culture, writing in Latin letters, establishing colonies on the island, and normalizing the population with Roman nature and culture until they succeeded in integrating the Corsicans into the framework of Roman society. This study aims to identify the political situation of the island after the Roman occupation and the position of the population towards the Roman occupation of their island, in addition to the isolation of the island and its selection by the emperors as an exile for politicians and those outside Roman laws. The study also focuses on identifying the administrative situation of the island and the Corsicans’ position towards Roman employees. The study also discusses the Corsicans’ participation in the Roman army and fleet and their granting of Roman citizenship. The study also focuses on identifying the economic and social conditions on the island in the Roman era.
