520 _aIn this thesis, the explicit finite-difference method for solving variable order fractional differential equations is considered. The concept of variable order fractional derivative is considered in the sense of Caputo and Riesz. In order to study the stability analysis and the truncation error of the schemes, some theorems with proofs are presented. Numerical test examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method
