520 _aIn this report a single feed compact planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) capable of operation in five bands is presented. The five bands are (GSM 0.9 GHz), (GPS 1.575 GHz), (DCS 1.8 GHz), Bluetooth wireless technology (2.4 GHz), and (WLAN 5.2 GHz). The antenna size reduction is achieved by first inserting U-shaped slots in the radiating element reducing the size to about 30% from the original PIFA
