| 520 | _aObjective: Pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy is an integral part in the surgical management of epithelial ovarian cancers, and it has a potential role in both staging and retroperitoneal debulking. We sought to evaluate the distribution and predictive factors for nodal involvement. Methods: Prospective study of 31 patients with stages I to III epithelial ovarian cancer treated at the National Cancer Institute between May 2011 and April 2013. Results: Nine patients had positive lymph nodes, 3 patients with clinical stage IA, 2 patients with stage IIB, 2 patients with stage IIIB and 2 patients with stage IIIC. The incidence of pelvic lymph node metastases was higher than para-aortic metastases. None of our patients had contralateral lymph node metastases. The most predominant histological type was serous cystadenocarcinoma. None of the patients with grade I tumors had lymph node involvement. Two of the 3 patients with mesenteric lymph node involvement had colonic invasion limited to the serosal layer with intact mucosa | ||
