520 | _aIn this study PET / CT was able to detect primary tumor site in 29 of the 52 patients (55.8%).The reported locations for primary tumor were as follow: 13 patients in the thorax (9 lung and 4 pleura), 9 in GIT (4 liver, 3 pancreas, 2 colon), 2 in the breast, 2 multiple myeloma, 2 in head and neck (1 thyroid and 1 pharyngeal) and 1 in the soft tissue. Four out of 52 (7.7 %) patients, proved to be false positive in PET / CT after pathologic assessment. Ten out of 52 patients (19.2%), no site of a primary could be detected by PET / CT. Nine out of 52 patients (17.3%), proved by PET / CT to be truly negative after clinical, laboratory and radiological follow up for up to 9 months | ||
