Serum samples{u2019} results were positive for patients and negative for controls but the saliva samples{u2019} results for patients and controls differed according to the three methods used for determining the cut-off value and the results ranged from 88 to 96% sensitivity and from 95 to 100% specificity. Aim of the study: The study aimed at evaluation of saliva as an alternative specimen to serum for the detection of hepatitis C virus antibodies
