520 _aThis research focuses on the effect of clay-nanofiller when added to the insulation material of high density polyethylene (HDPE) on the dielectric properties of the used polymer (HDPE) with different concentrations forming new materials called polymer nanocomposites. New materials were prepared and characterized by XRD and SEM techniques. Practical results showed that the dielectric properties of new materials such as dielectric breakdown voltage, dielectric constant, dissipation factor and insulation resistance were enhanced when compared with the unfilled polymer material
