520 | _aIntroduction: Headache is a common experience in adults. Recurring headaches negatively impact family life, social activity and work capacity. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of myofascial trigger point pressure release for upper cervical muscles on pain and functional ability on patients with cervicogenic headache. Method: Thirty patients with cervicogenic headache (12 males and 18 females), with age ranged from 20 to 40 years old participated in this study. They were assigned into two equal groups, each one has 15 patients: group A received myofascial trigger point pressure release plus stretching and isometric exercises for 12 sessions. Group B received isometric and stretching exercises only for 12 sessions. Smart Phone Inclinometer, Neck disability index and Visual analogue scale to measure pain and functional ability before and after the treatment program for both groups. Results: statistical analysis revealed that each of the pain intensity, the neck disability index, and the active range of motion of the neck were significantly improved in both groups with a favor to group A. Conclusion: Myofascial trigger point pressure release is an effective method for the treatment of cervicogenic headache | ||
