520 _aSensor networks research is still active due to the proliferation of devices equipped with sensors and actuators for monitoring and controlling their surrounding environment (e.g., places and devices). These devices have become the Internet's interface to the physical world; thereby, they are the key to the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT manages and controls a huge n{u200E}umber of heterogeneous devices, which will grow to reach the order of billions by 2020. IoT addresses the connectivity challenge by using IP and IPv6 for embedded devices (i.e., 6LoWPAN). The Web of Things (WoT) provides {u200E}infrastructure applications for visualizing IoT information {u200E}at a high-level instead of low-level raw sensory data. A key service in the IoT and the WoT is how the human users and machines look for meaningful and readable information in a huge and dynamic dataset in real-time, where datasets are stored in different formats. Challenges for this searching service, in brief, are: (1) there is a huge number of heterogeneous devices connected to the Internet; (2) data streams may be written in different formats; and (3) human users are interested in high-level knowledge (past, current and future knowledge) about Smart Things (SThs) and Entities of Interest (EoIs) instead of raw sensory data.
