520 _aHepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is complex disease with grave prognosis; it is a major burden for healthcare systems in underdeveloped countries with 84% of the world HCC population, having the highest annual fatality ratio of any human tumor. Recent publication from Egypt reported that liver cancer is the most predominant cancer in Egypt. Certain main features characterize HCC patients in Egypt following the clear geographical distribution nature of the disease. The aim of the study is to evaluate 5 year experience in management of hepatocellular carcinoma at the National Cancer Institute, Cairo university as a reference of the extent and determinants of HCC in Egypt and the outcomes of different ways of management. Patients records with the diagnosis of HCC during the period from January 2007 to December 2011 had been retrieved retrospectively from biostatistics and cancer epidemiology department at the National cancer institute (NCI), Cairo university. Patients related data: {age, sex, liver function (defined by child pugh{u2019}s class, bilirubin, albumin, portal hypertension, ascites) and general health status (defined by ECOG classification and presence of symptoms)}, And tumor related data {defined by number and size of nodules, presence of vascular invasion, extrahepatic spread}, were carefully assessed
