520 _aNowadays laparoscopy is used frequently not only in the elective surgery but also in abdominal emergencies including acute appendicitis. There are several techniques used to close the appendicular stump during laparoscopic appendectomy, in which our study was to compare the results of minimally invasive appendictomies performed with the use of clips and invaginating sutures. The objective of this study were to establish whether the occlusion of the appendicular stump by using clips is technically feasible and whether differences exist in the postoperative course of patients to whom clips are applied compared with patients whose appendicular stump is closed with invaginating suture
