520 | _aIntroduction: This study was conducted to evaluate the adaptation accuracy of maxillary complete dentures fabricated using injection molding technique and compression molding technique. Aim of the study: The aim of this invitro study was to compare the adaptation accuracy of maxillary complete denture bases processed using conventional compression molding technique to injection molding technique using universal measuring microscope. Materials and methods: Ten completely edentulous patients were selected from the outpatient clinic, department of prosthodontics, faculty of oral and dental medicine, Cairo university. Two maxillary dentures were constructed for each patient; one using compression molding technique and the other using injection molding technique. Dentures were divided into two groups, ten dentures each. Group I included 10 dentures that were processed using compression molding technique (vertex regular), while group II included 10 dentures which were processed using injection molding technique (polyan IC). Results: The results of this study showed that in each group section B showed higher gap width value compared to section A which was statistically significant. In addition, group I showed higher gap width value compared to group II which was statistically significant. Conclusion: This study concluded that injection molding technique showed better adaptation accuracy than did compression molding technique | ||
