520 | _aObjective: the aim of this work was to compare between the effect of low level laser therapy and Kinesio tape on pain, muscle power, hand function and range of motion in post cast forearm fracture in children. Methods: Thirty children (17 boys and 13 girls) participated in this study, they had fracture at middle third or lower third of forearm bones, their ages ranged between seven and nine years. They were randomly assigned into two groups, both groups were treated by a selected physical therapy program; in addition Group A received laser therapy, while group B treated with Kinesio tape for four weeks. The evaluation included hand grip strength by pneumatic squeeze bulb hand dynamometer, pain by Wong-Baker FACES pain rating scale, range of motion detected by universal goniometer and hand function by sollerman hand function test were conducted before and after four weeks of treatment in both groups. Results: there was a statistical significant difference between both groups after treatment program. Pain reduction was more in group A than group B, while muscle power, hand function, and range of motion improved in group B more than group A in children with forearm fracture after cast removal, p > 0.05. Conclusion: using low level laser therapy has better effect on pain reduction, while using Kinesio Tape has a better effect on improving muscle power, hand function, range of motion | ||
