520 _aThe present study investigated the effect of three different products containing glucosamine (a, b and c) that are extensively used in the treatment of osteoarthritis against carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) induced liver injury in male albino rats. The investigated effects were compared with the effect of a reference antioxidant drug (d). The degree of the studied effects was evaluated by determination of serum levels of (ALT, AST, total cholesterol, triglycerides, total protein and albumin), and liver tissue content of (MDA, NO, GSH and GSSG). Histopathological examination was performed to provide direct evidences of hepatotoxicity, hepatoprotective and curative effects of the tested nutraceuticals. The present study concluded that a, b and c may play protective and curative roles against CCl4-induced liver damage in rats which may be due to their antioxidant activities. The formulae a and c showed more potency than b as compared with the potency of d. a- Move free advanced plus MSM b- Glucosamine plus Vit. D c- Glucosamine Triple Strength d- Liverin
