520 _aObjectives: Bowel ultrasonography has become more commonly performed over the past decade, due to being available, safe and relatively easy procedure. In the present study, the main objective was to prove the ultrasonography ability of diagnosing different bowel diseases in the acute or chronic settings. Methods: Bowel ultrasound examination of 47 patients was performed by high frequency (12-15MHz) probe, and was compared by clinical and surgical data after reaching the diagnosis and with CT examination or Pathology reports when available. Results: When correlated with clinical, surgical and pathology diagnoses, ultrasound examination of the bowel was proved to be as effective regarding the ability of diagnosing different bowel diseases. Conclusion: Ultrasound is an easy, safe and reliable method of investigation of bowel diseases, especially in children. Being radiation free gives it the advantage over other radiological cross-sectional imaging modalities e.g. CT
