520 _aBackground: Proper infant{u2019}s feeding increases their chances of survival, also can promote their optimal growth and development, especially in the critical period of life from birth to two years. Malnutrition is an evident problem among under-five children especially infancy period and debate exists regarding the relative roles of the multiple contributing factors to malnutrition in this vulnerable group. Aim: The ultimate aim of the study is to improve child health and nutritional status through identifying and correcting feeding and weaning practices in infancy. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional analytical study conducted on 333 mother-infant pairs attending two primary health care centers in Suez governorate (an urban center and a rural center). A structured questionnaire was designed to collect data from mothers of children coming for vaccination. For all infants, anthropometric measurements (weight and height) were obtained. A blood sample to investigate the blood HB were done whenever financially affordable by parents of above one year infants included in the study
