520 | _aThis is a prospective study conducted at Student Hospital, Cairo University from December 2014 till June 2018. Where a total of 60 patients scheduled for arthroscopic ACL reconstruction were admitted during the study period. In this study (30) patients scheduled for ACL reconstruction by femoral intrafix (double bundle {u2013}single tunnel), and (30) patients for single bundle anatomical fixation by interference screw. The material of this study included sixty patients, thirtypatients in each group in whom the torn anterior cruciate ligament will be reconstructed arthroscopically using femoral Intrafix fixation device for the femur and interference screw fixation for the tibia (group A) and Interference screws (group B) with a period of six months follow up. The patients' age ranged from 19 years to 35 years with mean age 23.40 Years in group A. and from 18 years to 33years with mean 22.63 in group B. All patients were free of medical diseases. Among the patients, 14 patients (46%) were free of any meniscal pathology in group Aand 4 patients (13%) in group B while 12patients (40%) in group A, and 19 patients (63%) in group B were with medial meniscus tears and 2 patients (6.7%) in group B were with both meniscal injury and 4 patients (13.3%) in group A and 4 patients (13.3%) in group B was with lateral meniscal tear. The sports injury was the most common mechanism of injury (27 patients 90%), in group A, and 26 patients (86.7%) in group B followed by 3 patients (10%) in group A, and 4 patients (13.3%) in group B had non-sports injury | ||
