520 _aA total of 100 fish samples were collected from different fish farms in cairo and El Menoufia governerate. The collected samples were represented by Oreochromis niloticus, Mugil cephalus, Claris gariepinus, Bagrus bayad , Solea solea fish (20 samples each).14 organochlorine compounds were analyzed by gas chromatography. Solea soles samples revealed the highest mean levels, In contrast to Bagrus samples revealed lowest mean levels. Endrin pesticide found in all examined types followed by DDE. Most examined fish samples from different species are within the maximum residual limits and should not pose a health risk to consumers. The public health hazards were discussed as well as recommendations were done
