520 | _aThis study is concerned with the subsurface geologic situation, stratigraphic position and reservoir characteristics of Alam Elbueib reservoirs in Jade field located in Matruh basin in the North Western Desert of Egypt. It was undertaken to delineate the geometry and detailed structural features affecting the interested reservoirs in Jade field. It aims also to evaluate the Alam Elbueib reservoir rocks through the analysis of lithofacies types in addition to determine the different reservoir parameters characterizing the pay zone. This was done by utilizing well logs and various subsurface data in order to spotlighting the promising locations for further exploration. The interpretation of twenty seismic lines covering the study area led to construct time and depth structure contour maps for the selected reservoirs (AEB-3D and AEB-3G) that illustrate a complex structural pattern for the studied Jade field. It is highly faulted and two sets of faults were recognized. Firstly, a reverse fault (inverted normal fault), which is considered as the main fault extends from the northeast to the southwest. Secondly, a set of six normal faults trending in the northwest to southeast direction forming a halfgraben that extends throughout the downthrown side of the main fault in the studied area. The highest relief is located at the southern and northern parts of the Jade area and toward the southwest direction. These sets of faults represent the structural control for the hydrocarbon accumulation in the investigated Jade field | ||
