520 _aRadioactive wastes management and selection of disposal sites are hot topics to be considered for any newcomer{u2019}s states planning to construct nuclear power plants (NPPs).Radioactive wastes arise from the operation of nuclear power plants and research reactors, from other nuclear fuel cycle facilities operations and many other activities in which radioactive material is used. Radioactive waste presents a potential hazard to human health and the environment and it must be managed so as to ensure any associated risks do not exceed acceptable and permitted levels. This thesis aims mainly at radiological and environmental mapping of the Eldabaa site as a potential rad-wastes and spent fuel disposal location at relatively shallow depth
