520 _aUniversities around the world are rapidly and competitively introducing information and communication technology (ICT) into teaching & learning, management, and assessment. Evaluation of the stakeholders{u2019} readiness for adopting and implementing computer-based assessment (CBA) is critical to the success of this system. Threfore, the readiness of students and faculty members at Cairo University (CU), Giza, Egypt was assessed. Two structured questionnaires were developed and validated to measure the technical readiness for acceptance of CBA. The obtained results revealed that most students and faculty members possess a smart device and have access to the internet. However, they lack the experience needed to implement CBA. As to the overall technical readiness, both students and faculty members are not ready so far and some work is still needed. However, they showed satisfactory levels of perception of the usefulness, the ease of use and the playfulness of CBA. Overall, they accepted CBA but some improvements are still needed. The study concluded that although the students and the faculty members at CU have shown a rather satisfactory level of acceptance of CBA, they are not ready so far for CBA implementation and some effort must be exerted. The present study has gone some way towards enhancing our understanding of the readiness for CBA. However, it is recommended that further research should be undertaken in other relevant areas
