502 _aThesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electronics and Communication
520 _aThis study deals with three hazards related to exposure to radar radiation, which are Hazard of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO), Hazard of Electromagnetic Radiation to Fuel (HERF), and Hazard of Electromagnetic Radiation to Personnel (HERP).The airborne weather radar system is an essential tool for pilots to assess the intensity of convective weather ahead of the aircraft and to provide pilots with the necessary information to avoid {u2013} not penetrate - adverse weather. This thesis has identified 6 undesired events (UDEs) and 3 risk scenarios by using the fault tree analysis for operating A-300 airborne weather radar system on the ground, these risk scenarios relates to HERP, HERF and HERO
