520 | _aEnergy levels, transition probabilities, oscillator strengths and lifetimes are calculated using CIV3 and LANL codes for ions in the Ca isoelectronic sequence (Z=22 to Z= 30, except Fe VII). Calculated values show good agreement with the experimental results. Collisional excitation rate coefficients are calculated using the analytical formula of Vriens and Smeets. Level population densities are calculated by solving the coupled rate equations and gain coefficient for the ions and are calculated at three selected electron temperatures, namely 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of the ionization potential energy (IP). The promising laser emission lines in the XUV and soft X-ray spectral regions, are at wavelengths between 730-970 {u02DA}A for Ni IX, Cu X, Zn XI ions | ||
