520 _aPart 1: Two new reactive anti-UV dyes were synthesized based on ethyl 4-aminobenzoate and 4- aminobenzophenone, respectively. These reactive dyes exhibited higher dyeing properties and UPF values on cotton fabric than C.I. Reactive Red 198. Part 2: A polyfunctional reactive dye was synthesized and it exhibited higher dyeing properties and UPF values on cotton fabric than C.I. Reactive Red 120. Part 3: Two colourless reactive UV absorbers were synthesized using 4-aminobenzophenone and ethyl 4-aminobenzoate, respectively. One of the reactive UV absorber achieved excellent UPF values compared to the other UV absorber which exhibited poor UPF values at the same conditions. The structures of all the synthesized reactive dyes and UV absorbers were elucidated by IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR as well as elemental analyses
