520 | _aCeliac disease is prevalent worldwide and the estimated prevalence in Egyptian children in this study is 3 %. The anthropometric measurements and follow-up of the cases in this study showed that 66.6 % of the diagnosed celiac disease patients were below the 3rd weight for age percentile and 60% of them were below the 3rd height for age percentile compared to only 31.9% of non-celiac cases. The most common presentation of the classical signs and symptoms of celiac disease in the diagnosed cases was failure to gain weight (93.3 %), followed by diarrhea (86.8 %) abdominal discomfort (75 %), abdominal distension (60 %) and vomiting (60 %) | ||
