520 | _aIntroduction: Hemodynamic monitoring of intravascular fluid status for early and effective resuscitation of hypovolemia in critically ill children is very challenging task. Electrical cardiometry parameters can prove to be extremely significant method for monitoring of thoracic blood volume changes in critically ill. Objective:To assess IVC collapsibility index in critically ill children and to assess relation between IVC CI and non-invasive cardiometry indicators. Patients and methods:This was a cross-sectional study which was conducted on 43 critically ill children who were admitted to PICU in Children Hospital, Cairo University classified according to presence of dehydration/IVCCI at admission into two groups; group I (Dehydrated group) and group II (Non-Dehydrated group). Full history from files, clinical examinations, and investigations including electrical cardiometry were done. Results: No significant difference between dehydration and non-dehydration groups as regards the use of inotropes except for Adrenaline with P-value=0.003.There was no statistically significant difference between both groups in electrical cardiometry (ICON) results except for TFC and SVRI(P-value=0.027, .041 respectively).being higher in dehydration group.Direct significant correlation of CI with ICON and HR (with P-value <.001, .009 respectively), also indirect significant correlation with length of hospital stay with P-value <.001 and Hb with P-value=.009 | ||
