520 _aBackground: Children with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are more likely to experience feeding problems compared to typically developing children.As fewer researches have involved in thefeeding and eating disorders in children with ASD worldwide and in Egypt in particular, this urges the need for detailed investigation related feeding and eating disorder in ASD children. Aim: To assess the relation between feeding and eating disorder in children with ASD compared to healthy controls. Method: A case control study was conducted on ninety child subjects who were recruited from Kasr Al Ainy Hospital, Cairo University over a period of 1 year. 27 subjects were diagnosed with ASD and 30 subjects were diagnosed with ASD and Eating disorder (ED)were compared to 30 healthy control subjects.Psychiatric Semi-Structured Kasr Al Ainy Cairo university hospital child clinical interview, Symptom check list according to criteria of DSM 5 for diagnosis of Feeding and eating disorder,Child behavior checklist (CBCL),Food frequency questionnaire,The food consumption during weaning questionnaire were applied for all subject and the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) was applied tochildren diagnosed with ASD.Results:Relative to control subjects,the ASD groups had significantly highertotal score for CBCL. ASD and ED group had a significant difference in the patterns of food introduction with a mean age of 7.6 months, and 12.6 months in children with restrictive type. ASD and ED group also had the lowest percentage of food introduction during the first two years
