520 _aBackground: With the development of chronic ankle instability (CAI) after the failure of functional rehabilitation of acute ankle sprain, there is a need for an alternative way by which we can begin neuromuscular control retraining sooner.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of 6-week single limb balance training program of the non-affected side and comparing it with single limb balance training of the affected side on the Overall Stability Index (OASI), Antero-Posterior Stability Index (APSI), Medio-Lateral Stability Index (MLSI), Single Leg Stance Time (SLST), and modified Star Excursion Balance Test (mSEBT) composite score of the affected sides in patients with unilateral CAI. Methods: Thirty-two female patients with unilateral CAI with mean age 20.96 ± 1.69 years, body mass 69.37 ± 12.73 kg, and height 162.03 ± 5.45 cm participated in the study. They were randomly assigned into three groups; group (A) Cross Education (n=11) who performed the exercises for the non-affected side, group (B) Traditional Training (n=11) who performed the exercises for the affected side, and Control group (C) (n=10). Data were collected using the Biodex Balance system, Single Leg Stance Time (SLST), and modified Star Excursion Balance Test (mSEBT) before and after training.Findings: Mixed-design MANOVA revealed that the OASI, APSI, MLSI, SLST and composite score of mSEBT of the affectedsides improved significantly after training in both the Cross-Education group (A) and Traditional Training group (B) (p < 0.05).While, there was no significant difference between the pre and post-training mean values of the OASI, MLSI, APSI and SLST in the Control group (C)
