520 _aObjective: Evaluation of ENHO gene polymorphism (rs2281997, rs72735260) and serum adropin levels in patients with psoriasis and determining their relation to metabolic syndrome. Patients And Methods: The study included 150 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 150 matched controls. Each group was further divided according to presence/absence of metabolic syndrome into two subgroups. Detailed history, body surface area (BSA), PASI score, dermatology life quality index (DLQI) were recorded for all patients. Metabolic parameters were tested for both patients and controls. ENHO gene polymorphism (rs2281997 and rs72735260) were detected by Taqman technique for all patients and controls. Adropin level was assessed for 40 psoriasis patients and 40 controls using ELISA.Results: TT genotype and T allele variant of rs2281997 (C/T) gene were associated with psoriasis (p<0.001* and p=0.004* respectively) .TT genotype and T allele variant of rs2281997 (C/T) gene were also associated with increased systolic (p= 0.011* and 0.001* respectively) and diastolic blood pressure (p= 0.018* and 0.004* respectively). C allele of rs2281997 was statistically more frequently associated with scalp type of psoriasis (P=0.006*).There was no difference in the prevalence of rs72735260 (G/T) genotypes (p=0.493) and allele variants (p =0.522) between psoriasis patients and controls. However, GT genotype of rs72735260 (G/T) gene was associated with elevated serum cholesterol (p= 0.046*). GT genotype and T allele of rs72735260 (G/T) gene were associated with earlier age of onset of psoriasis (p= 0.023* and p=0.035* respectively) and with the type I psoriasis (P =0.028* and 0.018* respectively)
