520 _aInternational organizations work in different fields including supporting developing countries. In this research, the strategies of international organizations in urban development in Egypt are studied. The author explains the history of the international organizations, their general roles and their roles in sustainable urban development. In addition, the urbanization status in the world, as well as, in Cairo is clarified. Moreover, the international strategies and indicators of sustainable urban development are mentioned. Thus, using these indicators, analysis and evaluation of four unplanned areas in Egypt that are developed by international organizations is applied. These analyses clarify the strategies of each international organization in the development process. Furthermore, a questionnaire is performed with experts in Egypt who worked with the selected organizations at the developed areas to evaluate their performance. Finally, guidelines for the strategies of international organizations in sustainable urban development are concluded, followed by recommendations for further development
