520 _aThe purpose of this study is to address that lean manufacturing as one of the most suitable technique which can be used in supplier development projects within the supply chain asthe market dynamics creates a competitive environment toward customer centric, thus allows improving relationships between manufacturing companies and their suppliers by supplier development projects can be considered as an important component of the supply chain management. The main objective of this thesis is to study the impact ofimplementing lean manufacturing in supplier development projects to improve supply chain performanceand eliminate wasteamong the value chain enabling the suppliers to have better learning curves so to offer products and services at competitive cost.As the study's main problem was that we had a lot of inventory, a long delivery time, and a lot of waste product defect, we used three case studies to eliminate all of these types of waste: first inventory reduction, second transportation improvement, and third improving product quality in the supply chain. Hypothesis verified clearly where implementing lean manufacturing in supplier development projects lead to fast improvement by reducing inventory, delivery time and improve product quality in the supply chain. Implementing lean manufacturing reduce the different types of waste in the three selected processes
