520 _aThis present work concerns with transparent films of polyvinyl alcohol/polyethylene glycol (PVA/PEG) blend loaded with different nano-silica (SiO₂ ) content which were prepared by using solution casting. Therefore, the influence of PEG loading on PVA/PEG blends was first discussed in an attempt to obtain samples with good physical properties to be used for further studies. In addition, PVA/PEG nanocomposites (suitable blend ratio) were prepared using silica nanoparticles to elucidate its influence on the dielectric as well as optical properties and its thermal stability. Finally, we studied the effect of SiO₂ nanoparticle loading on the optical properties of samples. In this work two relevant parts were discussed:The first one: deals with the thermal gravimetric analysis and dielectric properties of the blends PEG/PVA prepared with different concentration ratios.Different onset temperatures of degradation and char formation were detected and the dielectric properties of PEG/PVA blends were measured as a function of frequency and PEG contents. While, Part two: concerns with thermogravimetric analysis of (90 PVA/10 PEG) blend loaded with different concentration of SiO₂ and the dielectric properties of SiO₂ nanoparticles dispersed in PVA/PEG polymer matrix at room temperature and as a function of both silica loading and frequency. Finally, the optical properties of PVA/PEG composites will be elucidated
