520 _aBackground: Iron deficiency is the most common and widespread nutritional disorder in the world affecting a large number of children. The objectives of our study were to Primary objectives:1-Identify the relation between iron deficiency anemia among children aged 12-24months and their feeding practice as regards, breast feeding and weaning performance. 2- Identify frequency of iron deficiency anemia among children aged 12- 24months.Secondary objectives: 1-Relation between socioeconomic level of parents and iron deficiency anemia among the studied participants.2- Identify pattern of feeding practice as regards, breast feeding and weaning performance among the studied participants.Methods: This study is a cross section study, which was done on One hundred Patients that included in the study and their age ranges from 12 to 24 months old. They were recruited from the outpatient clinics of Cairo University Children Hospitals. Results: Iron-deficiency anemia was present among (41 %) of all the studied cases. There were statistically significant decrease in age (months) among cases with Iron-deficiency anemia than cases without Irondeficiency anemia. There were statistically significant increase in duration of breast feeding (months) among cases with Iron-deficiency anemia than cases without Iron-deficiency anemia. There was statistically significant negative correlation between Iron and Duration of breast feeding. There was statistically significant difference between cases with Iron-deficiency anemia and cases without Iron-deficiency anemia regarding the presence of E. histolytica. There were statistically significant decrease in weight at birth recent weight, and height among cases with Iron-deficiency anemia than cases without Iron-deficiency anemia
