مؤسف أن الكثير لا يعرف من هو محمد صبرى أبو علم الا من خلال شارع يحمل اسمه بوسط القاهرة! فقد كان أبو علم من السياسيين المصريين اصحاب المواقف الوطنية , حيث كان للمؤثرات السياسية والفكرية اثرها الكبير فى تكوين شخصيته , فقد نشأ بأرض منوف واعتلى منابرها , ومثٌّل الجناح المعتدل الليبرالى داخل حزب الوفد , الى جانب كفاحه مع الوفديين فكان الاجدر بان يتولى منصب سكرتير عام للحزب بعد خروج مكرم عبيد وتعد هذه الفترة من أثمر فترات العمل الشبابية فى الوفد مما اعطى الوفد حركة نشطة وبُعدا اجتماعيا , كما ارتفع صوته تحت قبة البرلمان كمناقشا للقضية الوطنية وزعيما للمعارضة الوفدية , علاوة على دوره الملموس فى الاصلاح القضائى.

It is unfortunate that many people do not know who Mohamed Sabry Abu Alm is, except for a street named after him in downtown Cairo! Abu Alm was one of the Egyptian politicians with national positions, as the political and intellectual influences had a great impact on his personality. He was raised in the land of Menouf and rose to its podiums, and represented the moderate liberal wing within the Wafd Party, in addition to his struggle with the Wafdists. Therefore, it was more appropriate for him to assume the position of Secretary-General of the party after the departure of Makram Obeid. This period is considered one of the most fruitful periods of youth work in the Wafd, which gave the Wafd an active movement and a social dimension. His voice also rose under the dome of Parliament as a discussant of the national issue and a leader of the Wafdist opposition, in addition to his tangible role in judicial reform
