تركز هذه الدراسة على عرض بعض الحرائق والتفجيرات التي تسببت في تدمير بعض المكتبات والمتاحف عبر التاريخ، ودراسة أهم مظاهر تلف المخطوطات، الكتب والوثائق الناجمة عن حدوث الحرائق والتفجيرات الإرهابية. وكيفية إعداد خطة حماية للمكتبات والمتاحف من الحرائق والتفجيرات الإرهابية وطرق التعافى منها. حيث تم إجراء دراسة تجريبية لتقييم حرق بعض الكتب وإطفائها بالمياه، وتقييم كفاءة بعض الطرق والمواد المستخدمة في عمليات حفظ وتجفيف الكتب المبتلة والرطبة، كما تم تقييم كفاءة بعض مواد التقوية المستخدمة في معالجة الكتب والمخطوطات والوثائق المتضررة من الحرائق والتفجيرات الإرهابية، بينما تناولت الدراسة التطبيقية تقييم الوضع الحالى لترميم وصيانة مخطوطة قرآنية ورقية متضررة من الحريق ترجع للعصر التاسع عشر الميلادى، كما تناولت تقييم حالة حفظ ومعالجة كتاب دلائل الخيرات المطبوع المتضرر بفع الحريق ومياه الإطفاء

This study focuses on Fires, terrorist bombings and their role in the damage of manuscripts, books and documents through the ages with the study of the resultant forms of damage through a field study, and Common forms of damage found in manuscripts, books and documents which are caused by the occurrence of fires and terrorist explosions. and presents the steps required to prepare of a disaster risk management plan for archival materials based on a real field study. As discussed the results of the following The results of the effect of fire and extinguishing water on books, The results of evaluating the efficiency of three methods of preserving and drying burnt and wet books. Finally, the results of evaluating some treatment materials. This applied study dealt with the assessment of the current status, treatment and preservation of a fire-damaged Qur'anic paper manuscript from the nineteenth century, and also dealt with the evaluation of the preservation condition of Dala’il al-Khayrat, a printed book which was damaged by fire and water extinguishing.
