Background: In clinical practice nursing informatics is crucial. In order to increase the quality of care, it is important to focus on the awareness needs of nurses in relation to nursing informatics role. Aim: To identify the perception of the health team regarding the expected role of the informatics nurse in a selected automated units at Cairo University Hospital. Design: A descriptive exploratory design was utilized in this study. Subjects: convenient sample of nursing staff (n=70) and medical staff (n=30). Setting: The study was carried out in two critical care units at New El-kasr Elainy Teaching Hospital Cairo University. Tool: one tool was used for data collection, consisting of three parts: The first part: personal characteristics data of nursing staff. The second part: personal characteristics data related to medical staff. The third part: related of informatics nurse role questionnaire. Results: there were statistically significant differences between nursing staff and medical staff perception regarding to informatics knowledge privacy and informatics knowledge system (p=0.008, 0.017). Conclusion: The findings of the present study concluded that both nursing and medical staff highly perceived the role of informatics nurse. The finding of the present study indicated that the highest mean score for all dimensions related to role of informatics nurse from nursing staff and medical staff perceptions. Recommendations: Hospital administrators need to conduct training program, workshops, seminar to increase awareness, and engagement of nurses about nursing informatics. Develop strategies to improve nurses’s informatics practice.
تعد المعلوماتية التمريضية أمرا بالغ الأهمية في ممارسة الرعاية التمريضية، لزيادة جودة الرعاية التمريضية من المهم التركيز على زيادة الوعي للممرضات فيما يتعلق بأهمية معلوماتية التمريض، وهدفت الدراسة الى إدراك الفريق الصحي عن الدور المتوقع للممرضة المعلوماتية في احدى الوحدات المميكنة المختارة بمستشفيات جامعة القاهرة. تم استخدام تصميم استكشافي وصفي في هذه الدراسة. أجريت الدراسة الحالية على عينة متاحة تتكون من طاقم التمريض عددهم (70) والطاقم الطبي عددهم (30). أجريت الدراسة في وحدتين رعاية الجراحة ورعاية الحالات الحرجة بمستشفى القصر العيني التعليمي الجديد جامعة القاهرة. جُمعت بيانات الدراسة الحالية باستخدام أداه واحدة تكونت من ثلاثة أجزاء، الجزء الأول البيانات الشخصية لهيئة التمريض الجزء الثاني البيانات الشخصية للطاقم الطبي الجزء الثالث: استبيان دور الممرضة المعلوماتية. وكشفت نتائج الدراسة الحالية وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين إدراك هيئة التمريض والطاقم الطبي فيما يتعلق بالمعرفة المعلوماتية "الخصوصية والامان" والمعرفة المعلوماتية "الانظمة" أوضحت نتائج الدراسة الحالية إلى أن كلا من هيئة التمريض والطاقم الطبي لديهم إدراك بشكل كبير عن دور الممرضة المعلوماتية. وأوصت الدراسة بأن يجب على مديري المستشفى تنظيم برامج تدريبية وورش عمل وندوات لزيادة الوعي والحصول على الدعم وإشراك فريق الرعاية الصحية حول معلوماتية التمريض. تطوير استراتيجيات لتحسين ممارسة المعلوماتية للممرضين.
