This research examines the potential of "urban acupuncture" as a strategic approach to revitalizing public spaces in Cairo, which have seen a concerning decline in recent years. The study employs a multi-pronged methodology, including literature review, case study analysis, and field research, to assess the applicability of urban acupuncture within the Cairene context. The findings indicate that the core principles of urban acupuncture - identifying strategic intervention points, leveraging small-scale catalytic interventions, and fostering community participation - can generate more liveable and vibrant public spaces in Cairo. Through the selective, context-sensitive implementation of urban acupuncture techniques, this research argues that Cairo can begin to address the pressing need for accessible, functional public realms that cater to the diverse needs of its residents. The study provides actionable recommendations for policymakers, urban planners, and community stakeholders to collaboratively undertake strategic public space revitalization initiatives informed by the urban acupuncture framework.

هذا البحث يبحث في إمكانات "الوخز بالإبر الحضرية" كنهج استراتيجي لتنشيط الأماكن العامة في القاهرة، والتي شهدت انخفاضا مقلقا في السنوات الأخيرة. تستخدم الدراسة منهجية متعددة الجوانب، بما في ذلك مراجعة الدراسات السابقة، وتحليل دراسة الحالة، والبحث الميداني، لتقييم إمكانية تطبيق الوخز بالإبر في المناطق الحضرية في سياق القاهرة. تشير النتائج إلى أن المبادئ الأساسية للوخز بالإبر في المناطق الحضرية يمكن أن تولد مساحات عامة أكثر ملاءمة للعيش وحيوية في القاهرة. يجادل هذا البحث بأن القاهرة يمكن أن تبدأ في تلبية الحاجة الملحة إلى المجالات العامة الوظيفية لتلبي الاحتياجات المتنوعة لسكانها.
