Although the exact mechanism of CP-induced nephrotoxicity is not well understood, several studies have suggested the involvement of oxidative stress in the development of this drug's renal tubule injury. L-carnitine, through its potential possible antioxidant effect, would have a nephro- protective effect against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity
