Diabetes mellitus is undoubtedly one of the most challenging health problems in the 21st century. It has become the third fatal disease after the cardiovascular-cerebrovascular diseases and cancer (Zhao et al., 2010). Insulin is a protein administered to humans for the treatment of diabetes mellitus to control glucose homeostasis when pancreatic Ý-cells production is not enough to ensure daily needs of this hormone brange et al., 1997
