تميزت الحضارة العربية الإسلامية بالازدهار و الرقى: و اتسمت الثقافة العربية بالتنوع و الثراء الفكرى: فجاء العرب المسلمون بنهج جديد على العالم فى التأليف هو التأليف الموسوعى. وقد عرف العقل العربى الإسلامى الموسوعات على أول عهده بالتأليف: و من ثم ابتكر علماء العرب المسلمون التأليف الموسوعى فأبدعوا فى تأليف كتب جمعت بين ضخامة الحجم و كثافة و شمول المحتوى فتضمنت علوم: و آداب:و أخلاق: و دين: و سياسة: و ملح وفكاهات وغيرها من المعارف البشرية.و اتسمت الموسوعات المبكرة زمنيا فى الثقافة العربية بعدة سمات منهجية جعلتها تقترب كثيرا من الموسوعات متكاملة المنهج التى ظهرت مؤخرا فى عصر المماليك. و تهدف دراسة المؤلفات الموسوعية فى التراث العربى إلى معرفة بدايات التأليف الموسوعى العربى و:أسباب نشأته: و كذلك الظروف السياسية و الثقافية التى صاحبت ذلك النوع من التأليف: مع الوقوف على المنهج الذى اعتمد عليه مؤلفو الكتب الموسوعية فى إنجاز هذه المؤلفات الضخمة: ثم أخيرا التطور الذى لحق بالمؤلفات الموسوعية العربية من بدايتها حتى نهاية القرن التاسع الهجرى
The Arab Islamic civilization is characterized by prosperity and sophistication, and also characterized by mental influence and variety, so the Arab Moslems invented a new approach of authoring which was encyclopedic authoring. The Arabic Islamic mind has known the encyclopedias from the beginning of authoring, according to that the Arab scholars invented the encyclopedic authoring. As a result the Arab scholars wrote books combined between the magnitude of size and inclusion of content which contained science, literature, ethics, religion, politics, jokes and another human knowledge. The early encyclopedias in Arabic literature were characterized by methodological attributes which made them very close to the integrated approach encyclopedias which appeared later in Mamluks dynasty. The study was divided into two sections, each one contained three chapters. The first section was titled: Arabs encyclopedic authoring, the first chapter of this section was titled: Arabs blogging and authoring movement. This chapter discussed the intellectual development among the Arabs after Islam appearing and blogging of the Holy Quran and the Hadith. And the beginning of authorship in Islam, and authoring in the Umayyad era which flourished and have been completed in the Abbasid era, which was the era of thinking prosperity in the Islamic civilization which led to the diversity of Muslims authoring. The second chapter was titled: political life in the Arab countries since the establishment of the Abbasid state at the year 132 of hijra until the of the Mamluks state at the year 922 of hijra. This chapter discussed the political life in the Arab countries in the Islamic orient to Andalusia in the far west of Islamic state at the period time under study. This chapter also discussed one of the most important phenomena of political life then, which was the emerging of several emirates and independent states in different parts of the countries in the Muslim east, Egypt and Sham countries. And the Umayyad dynasty in Andalusia. The third chapter was titled: Cultural life in the Arab countries since the establishment of the Abbasid state at the year 132 of hijra untiles the end of the mamluks state at the year 922 of hijra. This chapter discussed the cultural life in Islamic countries in the Abbasid dynasty, from its beginning till its end at the year of 656 of hijra, in which time the state of Islam had reached the top of prosperity, progress and geographical widening.This progress and prosperity had reflected positively on the cultural life of the Islamic countries at this time. The Abbasid Caliphs had great role of this by encouraging science, cientists and writers which had a great role of the renaissance of Islamic culture. This chapter also discussed the cultural life of Islamic independent Emirates, Egypt and Andalusia. The second section of the study was titled: Arabic encyclopedic books till the end of the ninth century of hijra. This section included three chapters: The fourth chapter was titled: the emergence of the Arabic encyclopedic books and its volution. This chapter discussed the Arabic encyclopedic books from its beginning at the third century of hijra. And also discussed the specific terms of the encyclopedic authoring, and the emergence of the Arabic encyclopedic books and its evolution. It's also discussed the motives of the authors of the encyclopedic books which varied from public and private motives and also a reflection of the political and cultural life and to classify science. The chapter discussed also the phenomenon of encyclopedic authoring during the mamluks dynasty specifically. The fifth was titled the Arabic encyclopedic book from the third century of hijra till the end of the sixth century of hijra. This chapter discussed the definition of the Arabic encyclopedic books from its first emergence till the end of the sixth century of hijra arranged chronologically from oldest to the newest. The study found out that the emergence of the Arabic encyclopedic books was at the third century of hijra. At the following time at the fourth and fifth centuries of hijra, the encyclopedic growing up. The reference study included a set of elements: the author, the objective content and how the author organized the information of the book. The motives of authorship, as well as the impact and interactions among these books whether that belong to one or a different time period, and also that belong to the same or different places.
