Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is one of the most frequent chronic diseases of childhood. Its management in children should include regular assessment, careful monitoring of glycemic control and educational training on disease management. The aim of this work: is to evaluate the effectiveness audio-visual technology in self-management education to patients with type 1 diabetes who received no education before and held at diabetes outpatient clinic for Health Insurance Hospitals.Patients and Methods: The present study is an interventional study conducted on 143 cases of T1D at diabetes outpatient clinic, Health Insurance Hospitals from period May 2016 to February 2017. Follow up could be conducted to100 patients using a questionnaire before and after attending educational intervention session. Results: There is significant increase in the total score of diabetic knowledge questionnaire with p value {uF03C} 0.05 after attending education program. There is significant difference in glycated hemoglobin before and after educational program p value{uF03C} 0.05. There is no significant difference between socio-demographic variables among population in percentage changes in all aspects of diabetic knowledge.Conclusion: The implementation of High-Definition Video Technology has succeeded in achieving significant improvement in percentage changes of children{u2019}s diabetes knowledge. This improvement in children{u2019}s diabetes knowledge led to improvement in children{u2019}s management, laboratory results and exercising. Regarding to variable socio-demographic factors as age, sex, family history of same illness and socio-economic status, there was no difference in diabetes management practices skills
