The patients were 16 males and 4 females.Their ages ranged from 20 to 55 years with a mean age of 31 years. The etiology of fractures was road traffic accidents in 15 patients, assault in two patients and fall in 3 patients.Patients were divided into two equal groups, in the first group (A)10 patients were treated by open reduction and internal fixation of the fractured segments using the conventional miniplate system plus local application of activated PRP along the fracture line. While in the second group (B), 10 patients were treated by open reduction and internal fixation of the fractured segments using a conventional miniplate system without application of PRP Preoperative evaluation of the patients was carried out extraorally and intraorally by inspection and palpation of the fracture sites.Preoperative radiographic examination was in the form of orthopantomogram and posteroanterior views to determine the site, number, type of fractures and degree of displacement. Data were collected from each patient and recorded in a special examination chart
