There is growing evidence that disturbed eating behaviors as well as obesity co-occurs with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. In addition there is increasing concerns regarding the anxiety as a mediator for the correlation between disturbed eating behaviors and obesity.

Results: Disturbed eating behavior in ADHD children is not higher than healthy matched control. There is positive association between emotional overeating, satiety responsiveness and slowness of eating and ADHD profile subscales in ADHD children. There is no relation between ADHD profile and BMI. There is positive association between obsessive compulsive symptoms and fussy eating in children with ADHD.
Conclusion: Some eating behaviors are associated with ADHD profile symptoms in children with ADHD; however, BMI is not affected. Obsessive compulsive traits are associated with some eating behaviors in children with ADHD.
