يتمثل الهدف الرئيسي للدراسة تناول قياس أثر تغير سعر الصرف على التجارة الخارجية (صادرات السلع والخدمات – واردات السلع والخدمات) فى كينيا خلال الفترة ( 2002-2020)، ومن أهم الأهداف الفرعية تحليل أداء التجارة الخارجية (صادرات السلع والخدمات - واردات السلع والخدمات) فى كينيا منذ عام 2002. اعتمدت منهجية الدراسة على أدوات التحليل القياسي واستخدمت نموذج الانحدار الذاتي للفجوات الزمنية الموزعة (ARDL: Autoregressive Distributed Lags) لاختبار الفرض الاول: أن لتغيرات سعر الصرف أثر معنوي على صادرات كينيا من السلع والخدمات خلال الفترة (2002-2020). واستخدمت الدراسة طريقة المربعات الصغرى(OLS: Ordinary Least Squares) لاختبار الفرض الثانى: أن لتغيرات سعر الصرف أثر معنوي على واردات كينيا من السلع والخدمات خلال الفترة (2002-2020).توصلت الدراسة إلى أهم النتائج وهى صحة فروض الدراسة حيث يؤثر سعر الصرف على صادرات كينيا وواردتها، ويؤدى انخفاض سعر الصرف بنسبة 10% إلى زيادة الصادرات بنسبة 20.26% (تأثير عكسي)، كما يؤدى انخفاض سعر الصرف بنسبة 10% إلى زيادة في الواردات بنسبة 7.76% (تأثير عكسي)، ويدل ذلك على أن تأثير سعر الصرف عكسي على كل من الصادرات والواردات ولكن الأثر على الصادرات أقوى من الأثر على الواردات .توصى الدراسة بضرورة استمرار الاقتصاد الكينى في اتباع سياسة سعر الصرف المرن والاستفادة من تأثير انخفاض سعر الصرف على نمو الصادرات حيث يؤدى انخفاض سعر الصرف 10% إلى زيادة الصادرات 20.26%، ويتطلب ذلك تكامل سياسة سعر الصرف المرن مع السياسات الاقتصادية بهدف تحقيق طفرة فى قيمة الصادرات تغطى قيمة الواردات؛ مما يسهم فى انخفاض عجز الميزان التجاري فى كينيا. The main objective of the study is to measure the impact of exchange rate changes on foreign trade (exports of goods and services - imports of goods and services) in Kenya during the period (2002-2020 ).
One of the most important sub-objectives is to analyze the performance of foreign trade (exports of goods and services - imports of goods and services) in Kenya since 2002.The study methodology relied on standard analysis tools and used the Autoregressive Distributed Lags (ARDL) model to test the first hypothesis: that exchange rate changes have a significant impact on Kenya's exports of goods and services during the period (2002-2020(.The study used the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method to test the second hypothesis: that exchange rate changes have a significant impact on Kenya's imports of goods and services during the period (2002-2020).
The study reached the most important results, which is the validity of the study's hypotheses, as the exchange rate affects Kenya's exports and imports. A 10% decline in the exchange rate increases exports by 20.26% (negative impact), and a 10% decline in the exchange rate increases imports by 7.76% (negative impact). This indicates that the exchange rate has a negative impact on both exports and imports, but the impact on exports is stronger than the impact on imports. The study recommends that the Kenyan economy continue to adopt a flexible exchange rate policy and capitalize on the impact of a low exchange rate on export growth. A 10% decline in the exchange rate increases exports by 20.26%. This requires integrating a flexible exchange rate policy with economic policies to achieve a boom in the value of exports that covers the value of imports, contributing to reducing Kenya's trade deficit.
