Thirty five endophytic fluorescent bacterial isolates have been isolated and purified from root tissues of healthy tomato plants and screened for their efficiency in inhibiting growth of the tomato pathogens in vitro. Isolates that showed the maximum apparent effect against phytopathogenic fungi were selected and identified as Pseudomonas putida and P. flurescens and their ability to suppress the growth of the phytopathogenic fungus A. solani has been tested in vitro
