Develop and test a new proposed material in the laboratory to satisfy the requirements of the automotive braking systems . The mechanical tribological characteristics and noise characteristics of this proposed material are experimentally investigated . The resulte are presented and discussed . The conclusions drawn from the investigation show that the developed asbestos - free composite material has proved to meet successfully the requirements of the disc brake for passenger cars trains and vehicle trucks
