The current study aimed to investigate the cranial nerves of the cyprinid fish , Hypophthalmichthys molitrix . Serial transverse sections were prepared from the fish head and stained using Borax carmine and counterstained by picroindigo carmine . The obtained results demonstrate that there is no olfactory peduncle . There is a complete optic chiasma
