EDTA has been suggested as a root conditioning material capable of removing the smear layer and thus enhancing periodontal regeneration by selective removal of mineral from dentine or cementum surface exposing the collagenous matrix on the root surface . The aim of this study was to evaluate clinically and radiographically the treatment outcomes following root surface conditioning with 24% EDTA gel preparation in conjunction with MWF surgical therapy after hand and ultrasonic instrumentation used for root planing
EDTA and open flap debridement Modified Widman flap Root conditioning
